  • On 15 June 2026, meetings with representatives of the diplomatic corps were held at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. The discussions focused on promoting Poland as a destination for studies, research development and academic cooperation.

    NAWA MNiSW Spotkanie z Ambasadorami

The event was initiated by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, with organisational support from the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange. Representatives of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, NAWA, the Foundation for the Development of the Education System, and the academic community took part in the meetings.

The meetings were held in three rounds, addressed to representatives of OECD countries, countries with large Polish communities, and EU candidate countries. This format made it possible to tailor the discussion to different areas of academic, scientific and promotional cooperation.

The meetings were opened by Professor Andrzej Szeptycki, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. The perspective of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was presented by representatives of the Department of Cultural Diplomacy and Promotion of Poland.

Speaking on behalf of NAWA were Dr Wojciech Karczewski, Director General of NAWA, Dr Piotr Kępski, Director of the Department of Programmes for Institutions, and Magdalena Kachnowicz, Director of the Department of Programmes for Students

NAWA representatives presented the Agency’s activities supporting the internationalisation of Polish science and higher education, including programmes for international students, scholarship opportunities, institutional cooperation schemes and activities promoting Poland as an attractive destination for studies and research.

The meetings also addressed the role of science diplomacy, the potential of Polish universities and practical aspects of cooperation with international partners. Representatives of the academic community presented the offer of Polish higher education institutions for international students, while the Foundation for the Development of the Education System contributed its perspective on mobility and international cooperation in higher education.

The discussion covered, among other topics, cooperation with foreign universities and institutions, the promotion of Poland’s educational offer, recruitment of candidates from different education systems, and access to information on opportunities to study and develop academic cooperation in Poland.

The meetings provided an opportunity to present coherent information on the Polish higher education system, available support instruments and opportunities for developing academic relations with partners from different regions of the world.
