On 26-29 May 2026, a delegation of the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange participated in the NAFSA 2026 Annual Conference & Expo in Orlando, Florida. This year’s edition was held under the theme “Global by Design” and brought together representatives of the academic community, public institutions, national agencies, and organisations working to advance the internationalisation of higher education and science.

NAWA coordinated the Polish “Study&Research in Poland” booth, which served as a space for meetings, discussions, and presenting the potential of Polish higher education. Together with Polish universities and institutions, the Agency promoted Poland’s educational and scientific offer, supported the development of new contacts, and strengthened the visibility of Polish institutions on the international academic stage.

During the event, NAWA representatives met with international partners, representatives of sister agencies, and institutions interested in cooperation with Poland. Deputy Director of NAWA Dr Damian Syjczak was also present in the Polish delegation and took part in discussions devoted to the internationalisation of higher education and science, as well as the development of academic partnerships.

The talks focused, among other topics, on academic mobility, joint projects, the promotion of Polish science, and opportunities for expanding international cooperation. The Polish booth attracted considerable interest from participants, and the shared “Study&Research in Poland” brand helped strengthen a coherent message about Poland as a country open to academic and research cooperation.

The Polish delegation included universities representing different regions and academic profiles: Medical University of Gdansk, Poznan University of Technology, Silesian University of Technology, Warsaw University of Life Sciences, Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznań, Jagiellonian University, Jagiellonian University Medical College, Jan Dlugosz University in Czestochowa, University of Lodz, University of Life Sciences in Lublin, Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences, University of Agriculture in Krakow, and Medical University of Warsaw. The National Agency of Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps / Foundation for the Development of the Education System and NASK, National Research Institute, also participated in the event.

NAWA’s participation in NAFSA 2026 was another opportunity to support the internationalisation of Polish universities and research institutions, as well as to build long-term relations with partners from around the world. The event confirmed that Poland’s consistent presence at major sector events strengthens the recognition of Polish higher education and creates real opportunities for new forms of cooperation.
