Gain a degree at Polish universities and develop your career with a scholarship under the Stefan Banach NAWA Programme

 

The call for applications is now open for a programme addressed to young people from developing countries who want to pursue second-cycle studies in Poland or take part in a preparatory course.

The call is open until May 8, 2026, 3:00 p.m. CEST or until the application limit for a given group of countries is reached.

 

About the programme

The Banach NAWA Programme offers scholarships for full-time second-cycle studies conducted in Polish or English at universities supervised by the Minister of Science and Higher Education.

Studies in Polish may be preceded by a one-year NAWA preparatory course.

The programme aims to support the socio-economic development of developing countries by improving the level of education and professional qualifications of their citizens.

 

What does the programme offer?

  • monthly scholarship of PLN 2,500;
  • tuition fee exemption at public universities;
  • financing of the NAWA preparatory course for the Polish-language path;
  • travel allowance of PLN 2,500;
  • possibility to study in Polish or English;
  • Polish language and culture course for the English-language path.

 

Who can apply?

The programme is addressed to citizens of 36 countries covered by Polish Aid, including countries from Eastern Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America.

Eligible countries include, among others: Albania, Brazil, India, Mexico, Ukraine, Vietnam and others. The full list is available in the call for proposals.

 

Check if you meet the requirements

Before you start the application process, please make sure that you meet the formal requirements of the programme.

You may apply if you:

  • are a citizen of one of the eligible countries;
  • do not hold Polish citizenship;
  • plan to start second-cycle studies in Poland in the academic year 2026/2027;
  • obtained a first-cycle diploma no earlier than in 2024 or will obtain it by July 15, 2026;
  • do not already hold a second-cycle diploma;
  • meet the language requirements:
    • at least B2 in English, or
    • at least B2/B1 in Polish, depending on the study path.

Applicants are required to submit a complete set of documents, including a short self-presentation video.

  4. After logging in, select the Banach NAWA Programme and submit your application electronically.

Application deadline

What happens after you apply?

Applications will be evaluated based on formal and substantive criteria, including academic performance and the candidate’s self-presentation.

Results are expected by July 31, 2026.
