We are opening the call for applications for the Stefan Banach NAWA Programme – a scholarship programme addressed to young people from developing countries who wish to pursue second-cycle studies in Poland or attend a preparatory course.
This year’s call is open until May 8, 2026, 3:00 p.m. (CEST) or until the application limit in a specific group is reached.
About the programme
The programme offers scholarships for full-time second-cycle studies conducted in Polish or English at universities supervised by the Minister of Science and Higher Education.
Studies in Polish may be preceded by a one-year NAWA preparatory course.
The programme aims to support the socio-economic development of developing countries by improving the level of education and professional qualifications of their citizens.
What does the programme offer?
- monthly scholarship of PLN 2,500
- exemption from tuition fees at public universities
- preparatory course funded by NAWA (Polish-track)
- travel allowance (PLN 2,500)
- studies in Polish or English
- Polish language and culture course (English-track)
Who can apply?
The programme is open to citizens of 36 countries covered by Polish Aid from Eastern Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America.

Requirements
Applicants must:
- hold citizenship of an eligible country
- not hold Polish citizenship
- plan to start studies in the 2026/2027 academic year
- have obtained a Bachelor’s degree no earlier than 2024 or graduate by July 15, 2026
- not hold a Master’s degree
- demonstrate language proficiency:
- at least B2 (English) or
- B2/B1 (Polish, depending on the path)
Applicants must submit a complete set of documents, including a short self-presentation video.

Applications will be evaluated based on formal and substantive criteria, including academic performance and motivation.
Results are expected by July 31, 2026.
